iGEM

The application for the Team 2024 is now closed.

The iGEM Team2024 has chosen its project with great enthusiasm and is now working tirelessly to realize it both inside and outside the laboratory. Additionally, team members are committed to successfully managing the diverse opportunities and challenges associated with its implementation, such as finding suitable sponsors and engaging with experts and other iGEM teams.

For questions, the iGEM Team Düsseldorf 2024 can be reached at igem@hhu.de and on Instagram @igem_duesseldorf

The interdisciplinary "international Genetically Engineered Machine" (iGEM) competition is a competition for students of all disciplines who would like to work independently on a synthetic biology project. Over the course of a year, a good 350 teams from all over the world plan their creative solutions to current problems in order to present them at a major conference at the end of the iGEM year. In addition to the laboratory work, science communication and (artistic) presentation of the work, software and hardware as well as the financing of the project are also in demand.

In 2023, Düsseldorf is taking part in the competition for the eighth time and has won gold five times, silver once and bronze once in previous years. Next year, the team will again try to bring the best possible result to Düsseldorf with the help of the numerous sponsors and supporters.
